Nobody dictates code, and ahsk does not pretend you should. What developers dictate is everything around the code: the commit message you were about to write as "fix", the PR description, the comment explaining why, the reply in the review thread, the incident note, the doc nobody wants to write. ahsk types that at the cursor in any editor or terminal, keeps your identifiers intact, and learns the names of your services the first time you correct one.
Identifiers survive
Say "rename getUserById to fetchUserById" and that is what lands, camelCase and all. Say "the payments dash worker" and, once you have added it to your dictionary or corrected it once, it comes out as payments-worker every time. Product names, service names, teammates' names: the dictionary is a plain list in Settings, and ahsk learns from what you fix after pasting.
Works where your cursor is
VS Code, Cursor, Zed, JetBrains, Xcode, Terminal, iTerm, the GitHub PR box in Chrome, Linear, Slack. ahsk does not integrate with editors; it types where the cursor is, which means it works in the one you switch to next week too. On Windows the same gesture works in Windows Terminal, VS Code and Visual Studio.
Answers without leaving the terminal
Hold fn + Control (Ctrl + Win + A on Windows), ask "what is the flag to follow symlinks in find", and a web-sourced answer opens next to the pill. Select an error in the terminal and use Respond to ask what it means. Neither takes you to a browser tab.
What it is not for
Writing code by voice. Dictation is wrong for syntax and we are not going to sell you on it. It is also cloud transcription, so if your employer forbids audio leaving the machine, use Superwhisper or a local model instead. Everything else, from the commit message to the postmortem, is exactly what it is for.

Yes. ahsk types at the cursor in any editor; there is nothing to install inside the editor.
Will it mangle variable names?
Common casing (camelCase, snake_case) is preserved. Project-specific names go in your dictionary, or ahsk learns them the first time you correct one after pasting.
Is transcription on-device?
No. Audio is transcribed by Whisper large-v3 in the cloud and is not stored. Your dictionary and learned corrections stay on your device. If your work must never leave the machine, ahsk is the wrong tool and we would rather say so than pretend.
