Wispr Flow raised $361 million and its headline is "Don't type, just speak." ahsk is built by a much smaller team and its headline is "Dictation you can trust." Both put your words at the cursor in any app on Mac, Windows and iPhone. The differences are price, what happens when your microphone changes mid-sentence, how each handles accented English, and whether you can speak one language and paste another.
Where Wispr Flow is ahead
Wispr Flow ships on Android, ahsk does not. Wispr has enterprise plans with SOC 2 and HIPAA paperwork, ahsk does not yet. Wispr's free tier is measured in words per week (2,000), which for light use can last longer than ahsk's 50 starting credits. And Wispr has the polish that $361 million buys: more integrations, more languages listed, more logos on the homepage.
Where ahsk is ahead
Price: €9.99 a month for all three platforms against Wispr's $15. Translation: hold fn+Shift on Mac or Ctrl+Win+T on Windows, speak English, and Italian lands at the cursor; Wispr treats translation as a separate problem. Reliability: ahsk keeps recording when you close the lid, switch to AirPods or plug in a USB mic, because it watches whether audio is actually arriving rather than whether the microphone claims to be open. And accents: ahsk runs Whisper large-v3 specifically because it holds up on non-native English, which is most of ahsk's users.
The thing neither of us can promise
Both products send audio to the cloud for transcription. Neither is the right choice if your work cannot leave your machine; look at Superwhisper or MacWhisper for that. ahsk keeps your dictionary and learned words local and never stores your recordings, but the transcription itself is not on-device.
Who should pick which
Pick Wispr Flow if you are on Android, need enterprise compliance, or want the most integrations. Pick ahsk if you work across Mac, Windows and iPhone on one account, speak English with an accent, switch microphones during the day, or regularly write in a second language. Try both free; the gestures are similar enough that switching costs you an afternoon.
How this comparison was made
Prices, platforms and features for the other product are taken from its own website and pricing page in August 2026, and ahsk facts from the current builds (Mac 6.4, Windows 1.4 beta, iOS 2.x). If something has changed or we got a detail wrong, email support@ahsk.app and we will fix it. We would rather be accurate than flattering.

Download for MacFrequently Asked Questions
Is ahsk a good Wispr Flow alternative?
If your reasons for leaving Wispr are price, Windows, translation or accuracy on accented English, yes. If your reason is wanting on-device transcription, no; neither product does that.
Can I import my Wispr Flow dictionary into ahsk?
Not automatically. ahsk's dictionary is a plain list of words in Settings, so pasting your names and jargon in takes a minute. ahsk also learns corrections you make after pasting, on-device.
Is ahsk free?
Yes. Every account starts with 50 credits and no card. Pro is €9.99 a month for unlimited dictation, translation and AI rewriting, and one subscription covers Mac, Windows and iPhone.
Does ahsk work offline?
No. Transcription runs on Whisper large-v3 in the cloud, which is why accuracy on accented and non-native English is as good as it is. Your custom dictionary and learned words stay on your device. If you need fully offline dictation, ahsk is the wrong tool and we say so.
